Happy New Year!

2025

After a brush with Covid just before our Spring Concert at Groton Church left us a couple of singers short and having to replace our accompanist at short notice, we were greatly relieved that it went well. We joined forces with the harp ensemble 'Melody of Harps', so it involved more than twenty musicians and as well as all the preparation that went into the music, the committee at Groton Church had been busy organising publicity and refreshments. Thankfully, we didn’t have to cancel and all was well.

We enjoyed very much singing for the Boxford Friendship Group in the summer, and we also gave another joint concert with the harp ensemble at Sudbury Arts Centre in July.

Our year ended with the Christmas Concert for the Borley Church Illuminations with all the atmosphere of an old fashioned village Christmas.

At the close of 2024 our choir numbers have increased and we’re very much looking forward to our singing engagements in 2025. Ideally, we’d like to increase our tenor section from 3 to 5 singers to match our bass section, so we’re looking for two more tenors, and then I think our lounge won’t be able to accommodate any more singers!!

Wishing you a very Happy New Year,

Sue Price
